Pistols can be separated into two different categories: slow, heavy pistols like the 14mm Pistol best suited for targeted shots using crit-related weapon perks on one side, and fast shooting "light" pistols like the Colt M1911 on the hand, best suited for targeting limbs or simply shooting the torso with a good rate of fire and preferably a high base crit chance.
Due to the changes in animation times, Pistols can shoot about three times as fast as they used to, making torso-spamming a viable tactic even in real-time. With a good variety of different pistols, every character can be sure to find a useful pistol for him, be it as a primary weapon or a sidearm.
